English

SIS has recently adopted the Project Aero Standards for grades K-10 and uses the College Board framework for AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition in grades 11 and 12.

Additionally, SIS is an AP Capstone Diploma school and students have the option of taking both AP Seminar and AP Research in their HS journey.

In Elementary School, the main instructional resource is HMH Journeys while grades 6-12 use novel sets as their primary tools.

Mathematics

SIS follows the Dimensions Math series from Singapore Math. This is an instructional resource and also a comprehensive program that has yielded great results at SIS and across the world. In grades 9 and 10, students take Geometry and Pre-Calculus, with the option of taking it as AP Pre-Calculus. In grades 11 and 12, students have the option of taking Advanced Mathematics, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics.

Social Studies

Students progress through their study of Social Studies from the immediate environment to increasingly complex studies. This culminates in the completion of AP Human Geography, AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics or the high school versions of the courses.

Science

Students engage in an integrated science approach throughout their elementary and middle school years, using the Elevate Science texts as the primary instructional resource. In high school, students undertake a course of study that focusses on the disciplinary core ideas of the Next Generation Science Standards. The high school progression is: Biology, Chemistry, AP Biology and AP Physics II.
